My Artistic Journey

"Where East meets West on paper."

Juliart, a Roman artist with a profound connection to the East, was born in 1993 into a family steeped in creativity.

Her mother, Klirò, a renowned painter and sculptor, honed her craft under the tutelage of the legendary Emilio Greco. Her father, the accomplished composer Roberto Spanu, provided a counterpoint of melody to the household.

From a tender age, Juliart was drawn to the serene beauty of traditional Japanese culture: Shodo calligraphy and Sumi-e ink painting ignited a lifelong passion. She has always loved drawing, but her true artistic journey began with inkwash painting , where she developed a distinctive style that seamlessly merges the Eastern ink technique with the Western watercolor approach, creating a harmonious bridge between the two worlds.

Today, Juliart is a celebrated ink painter whose work is showcased in prestigious exhibitions both nationally and internationally. Yet, her artistic expression extends beyond canvas: being also a piano enthusiast and vocalist, Juliart shares her passion for music with the world through her YouTube channel.

Her unique perspective and mastery of inkwash painting led to an invitation to appear on the Japanese television program "世界ニッポン行きたい人応援団" which brought her to Japan in 2016. This experience culminated in invaluable workshops with the renowned artist Yu-Ki Nishimoto.

Building on this foundation, Juliart participated in the prestigious UNESCO International Art Camp in 2024.

While inkwash painting is her primary focus, Juliart also finds inspiration in other artistic forms, including oil painting, tempera, and pastel, further enriching her artistic expression and versatility.

Driven by a desire to share her art with a wider audience, Juliart also founded Juliart Collection, a fashion and lifestyle brand featuring her ink paintings. This venture allows her to translate her artistic vision into wearable pieces and everyday objects.
